Geoff Stone

I got into photography through my interest in nature and natural history, and wanting to record the birds, animals and so on that I saw. Photography developed into an interest in it's own right.
I have now been doing photography for 24 years. I am President of our local photography club, and also run (with John) the Rushden Open, which is a national exhibition.

As well as still photography I am also interested in audio-visual, and present these to various groups, clubs, and so on.
One of my main interests is in nature photography, as you will see from some of the pictues on this site, but I am willing to have a go at many other things.

I have always been interested in photography, even from an early age. The family album has a picture of me aged about 8 sitting on the grass holding my little camera.
I did a City and Guilds course some years ago and also gained the Licentiate of the RPS.
I am General Secretary of our local photography club, and also run (with Geoff) the Rushden Open, which is a national exhibition.

I have had a lot of cameras over the years, from before digital was even dreamt of, but I have now fully embraced the digital way. The old darkroom was fun, but the lightroom is far more convenient, and offers more potential as well. ... and you can have a cup of coffee to hand while doing your work.
Main areas of interest are portraiture and landscape but other things are fair game as well, and I am doing a bit more sport recently.
